My birthday this year...

It's been chilly lately. Weather report says it's 25C outside. There isn't much wind but I certainly feel a chill in the air. It's a much welcomed change from the usual hot or wet weather we get here. It rains still, but not as much as the week before, if I remember right. And definately not as long. So I love the weather now, cold but not wet. I'm sitting in the living room now, with no fan turned on and I'm wearing my jacket. With the front door opened. Hee. Kua zhuang right?

I think cold weather fashion will suit me very much! Since I've got a tummy bulge, I can hide it under my jacket and wear jeans with boots everyday! And still look great! But I realise of course, that cold isn't always great. Though I always liked the idea of lounging at home in long pants and booties, I cannot imagine that kind of cold. Everytime I go to Genting, I always regret not bringing more/thicker jackets. The last time when I brought Kate over, we went to the kid's indoors swimming pool and I forgot to bring clothes to change into for myself. So I wrapped Kate with my big towel and carried her in my wet swimsuit and walked back shivering for about ten minutes to the hotel room. Yikes! Kate had a great time though, and so it's worth it! She cried and refused to leave but I had to make her since it was quite cold even though the water was nice and warm. It's a playground sorta place, so the water's only up to my knees? And Kate wanted to climb up and down which meant she would be out of the warm water and I was afraid she might catch a cold.

Anyway I digress! I have got tons of pictures! From my little party with Von and Fanni, and dinner with hubs and Kate! Von and Fanni brought me to this lovely quaint restaurant/shop at Plaza Sg, (The shop's name is "A thousand angels" I think) and we also went to drink at Serangoon gardens after that. I didn't stay long though, but I had fun!

I met Jo for lunch the next day but didn't take any pictures! =(

On the eve of my birthday, hubs, Kate and I baked cookies...Kate helped for the first batch, then went to sleep. And hubs did almost everything for the second batch. (Because I had to put Kate to bed.) Hee. He said that it was really therapeutic to knead the dough. Well, he's more than welcome to mix and knead the dough next time! Kate really enjoyed the hands-on experience and I'm so glad we did it together as a family.

And on my birthday itself! I love eating at Kuishinbo! Yumms! And I highly suspect Kate loves it more than me! I was ummm...skeptical that we would be able to stay long, as Kate might not be able to sit quietly for too long. Maximum maybe about an hour or so? And since Kuishinbo was a Jap buffet, I wanted to enjoy my dinner at a leisurely pace. However, Kate was really well-behaved and when we left, it was because we were done with our dinner. We were there for two hours! I showed Kate around the buffet lines and I showed her the dessert area too. Of course, she loved that area most. Heh heh. As a special treat, I got her a plate of desserts towards the end of our dinner.

Wanted to go the Flyer after, as we had a one for one ticket, but I couldn't find it in my bag and thought that I had left it at home...So went home and cut my birthday log cake.

The makeup tutorial

I'm sooo lazy to blog.
So I decided to put up a makeup tutorial. I'll let the pictures speak for themselves and I do hope the tutorial's helpful. =)

How to use mascara effectively! Do coat every lash with tons of the primer, and then the color! Doesn't matter that there's clumps! It draws attention to your eyes and enlarges them, don't you think?

Photobucket

Oooh. And you can also cover the entire area below your eyes too! Hmm... this actually covers eye bags, no need for concealers!

Photobucket

And always remember to smile widely for the camera! *Cheese!*

Disclaimer:
I was asleep when my little makeup artist decided to help herself to my makeup pouch; which I forgot to place muuuch higher yet AGAIN. I am in no way responsible for the way her makeup turned out. *Grins*

Happy birthday to meeee! My birthday just passed and I had the best birthday eve ever! Spent it baking lottsa cookies with hubs and Kate! And had the most delicious dinner in a while at my favorite but kinda ex jap buffet restaurant, Kuishinbo. Loves!

Many pictures to post, but YAWN! Not now!

I also received an sms today from my very good friend. I have not emailed him in the longest time and today he messaged me the season's greetings and when I replied him, he asked me to check out his facebook page within the next few days. Even teased him bout his page being like a fan page, asking me to check out the great deals, lol. And check I did; really big suprise I got! He had not posted up pics but from what I gathered from the comments; he's married! Oh glee! I'm soooooo happy for him!! But really shocked since he never breathed a word to me bout it. Haha! Mr. Tony Goh, congrats, faster come back and hold another wedding and introduce your lovely wife! Now, you have everything, and everything in your life have fallen into place! Next, to have a kid! Being in love

Being in love and loving are different...
And its wonderful when you are in a relationship that is both the former and the latter.

Earlier on FB, I read someone's status and it went;

"The best part of going to Taiwan? I was with hubby. The best part about being home? I am with hubby!"

Disgustingly sweeeet. Urk. Haha. But truely, Elvin and Esther are a really loving couple. Without all the crap and worldly temptations to ruin all that they have. I'm sure they have their own problems too, but I always see them and they look so blissfully happy, content in each other's company. And I remember once Esther was complaining about pain in her ankle or something on FB, then Elvin replied her there, saying; "Hold on baby, I'm coming back now to make it all better." Awwww... And I think that their relationship is so blessed. I have never envied any other couple before, but yes, during the duration of these 2 years, I have been envying, and these two tops the list. When God is in the equation, it makes their bond more special and strong. These two met in church, fell in love during a mission trip or something, and married a year after me and hubs. They put God above all else, and I really love that in them, I see what God's love can do for a couple.

Soo. I'm supposed to go for class later, and get some stuff from my LSS, but am feeling really out-of-sorts. Just wondering a lot of  "Whys?" today. Oh frick it all.

Tuesday, December 14, 2010

I started off happy today. I went to my favorite LSS and I got to go to the Bookfest at Suntec. Bought many craft books for a bargain, and was really happy with my buys.

Then for some reason I quarreled with mom again. I didn't realised that mom felt certain ways about what I said in anger or spite about someone else. She took it quite hard.

Then Kate really started to get on my nerves. And after that, thinking hubs can spend some time with me, he went to sleep.

Then for some reason I started thinking back to the past few weeks happenings. And I realised something. He doesn't seem to like spending time with us, particularly me. Not that he would show a face or anything. Just that its a vibe. I think he finds it a chore and quite stressful. Just like his work. And every other off day, he's always "Is it ok if I go play mahjong? Or drink?" Or something. I mean, its about once a week. I know he has to de-stress. I just find it sad that being with me in the past was destressing and uplifting to him; now obviously its not. Not that I blame him.

So. Tonight, I have come to realised two things. And I've decided that well... its ok. I can just skip the whole quality time thing because I know you are not interested and I don't wanna force anyone to do anything, for/with me. (I'm in no way angry, just bit hurt, sad & stating the facts) I'm a very self-awared and intuitive person. It's ok. Seriously.

You know, I read this somewhere. And I totally agree with it.
A cheerful, happy person vs a depressed or bitter person. Of course, its so much easier to love the former. But its the latter that needs more of it.

But tough. Screw it. Because I seriously don't wanna dwell on all of that.

The one with randomness

I kept wanting to blog about a few different things, but could not find the time to do so. All random but just wanted to blog bout them so I would remember.

A few weeks back, I watched Inception. Have you watched it? It's a great movie! Have not watched one that made me think for a long time. I'm not gonna spoil it for those who have not watched but do watch it if you have not! And pay attention k?

And! I bought a new solar lamp from Ikea! So happy! I know I'm gonna sound real "kuku" here; but I really love going green! I am into the whole reduce, reuse and recycle part. Though I really ought to cut down on my computer usage, and um... scrapbooking kinda uses alot of stuff. But some companies use organic soy-based inks to print the patterned papers, and some papers come from forests that are managed to meet stringent environmental and social impact requirements or are recycled. Hee! So anyway, I got my lamp and though I gotta charge it for 9-12 hours before being able to use it for only 3 hours, I'm real happy to cut down on my electricity usage! Hubs says its so troublesome; I agree. But I love the lamp and I love that its solar so! And for every lamp sold, Ikea donates one to The United Nations Children's Fund. Isn't that so great?! I mean, I get to go green, and a kid gets his/her world lighted up at night! Seriously, I'm so happy about it!!! Daddy decided to get a few for a church brother who's going on mission and I think its a great idea! Again, a few kids get their world lighted up! Oh, joy!

Photobucket

It's selling at $29, it's inexpensive! It's not very, very bright, but it will do. For me, and for those who have no electricity. It lights up my work desk so I can see while I work on my scraps.

I also bought some organic handmade soap, and while trying to sell the idea to hubs, I gave him the story of how soap was made in the past; using animal fats. And that changed during war time or something; people were poor and couldn't afford meat and then soap started to be mass-produced. (Read this somewhere, might have gotten some facts wrong or mixed up) Something like that. And I told him bout the benefits of using organic soap and all...contain no additives, preservatives or chemicals that may otherwise harm you, your skin or the environment. Hee hee. Then he retorted with a, "Wah, you even know the history of soap!" -_-  Ok la, I know sometimes I go a bit mad with my try-to-go-green but hey! Just trying to choose what's good for us and the environment. I don't like using soap bars too, too used to the shower foams...But I'm sure after awhile of using soap bars, we will get used to it again. Then hubs came up with, "Remember what Chandler said in "Friends"? What's the first and last part of your body you wash when you use a bar soap? First - your face. Last - your groin area. Then the next person? First - His/her face. Last - his/her groin area." You get the idea. -_-

As the title suggest, all random stuff!! =)

BarlowGirl - I Believe In Love [HQ]

I chanced upon a blog http://pamelaswalk.blogspot.com/. And I found this really amazing song.  Even if you are not a believer, just listen to it, it isn't really preachy and all. I promise.

**And for those who are struggling with life... I like what the author of the blog wrote recently...

"I just prayed the most ridiculous prayer. But unfortunately we do it all the time.

I was praying asking for direction with some stuff in my life that just doesn't seem to be going my way...or progressing in any way. I found myself saying something like "Lord, if we could just do things my way this time..." And I caught myself. It was like I could hear God saying "We could do things your way this time child, but you will miss out on so much." Honestly, why would I want a human, flawed plan when I could have God's perfect plan for me. It may not be what I think I need. But He knows more then me!!! I know...shocking, right? No. We all know better. HE knows what I need. He knows what YOU need. "

I love what she pointed out. God lets us live our own lives, he always give us choices. We could always do it our way or His. But... It was like I could hear God saying "We could do things your way this time child, but you will miss out on so much." Amen to that. He knows, He always knows what's best, we just have to trust.

Trip to the Jurong Bird Park

We went to the bird park last sunday...Kate was really excited since a day before, I had told her we were going, but it rained. Hubs came along since he was on his off day that day. Pictures!

**Kate had a little penguin painted on her hand...she was so scared it would come off, she kept holding her hand opened wide.. So cute. We queued ten minutes for it, then ten minutes later, it came off when she played at the water-themed park. -_- When it started to come off, I teased her and asked where her penguin went. She took a look at her hand and when she saw the distorted penguin her whole face fell. It was so funny! *So bad right?* Just find children so adorable. After that, she got distracted by the water park again. Haha.

Becky Kelley - Where's the Line to See Jesus - OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO

Webster's Pages design team call

I was blog-hopping on Webster's pages' design team's blogs. They were having this "Week of Winter Wonderland" and each of them had made a card for each other and were giving away a set of stamps. It was sooo fun to look at each designer's project and see their different styles. They are sooo talented, I'm jealous!
If you wanna join in the fun, or get some inspiration for your scraps, do check out http://websterspages.ning.com/

Anyway, Webster's Pages are having their first open design team call!

Here are all the juicy details:

"Webster’s Pages is pleased to announce their first open design team call!

We are looking for paper crafters that 1) love working with Webster’s Pages products, 2) are looking for an opportunity to be involved in both creating paper crafts as well as sharing their enthusiasm for Webster’s Pages on InspireME, Facebook, and other online outlets, 3) enjoy helping to inspire other paper crafters with beautiful and unique projects.

We will be looking for members to be on our team that uses traditional products as well as looking for members for our first Digital Design Team. The Digital Design team will work exclusively with our digital products. Paper crafters that consider themselves “hybrid” paper crafters and use both traditional supplies as well as digital images, should apply for the “traditional” team but mention they are hybrid paper crafters. Those applying specifically for the digital team should mention this. The application requirements for both teams are the same.

International designers are welcome to apply to both teams.

Specific requirements and compensation details are provided upon invitation to the team. However we would like to mention that regular creation of projects and online participation are requirements for this team, and compensation is provided through a generous amount of product as well as monetary compensation for hard copy published items and trade show/advertising assignments. The term will be until the end of 2011.

Please note that Webster’s Pages Design Team members will be limited to being on no more than 3 paper manufacturing teams total.

We are envisioning a team of 15 members with 3 exclusively on our digital team.

To apply send an email to wpdt@websterspages.com with the following information:

Provide a one or two paragraph biographical statement telling us a little bit about you and your scrapbook experience including any publication history, design team experience, teaching experience (in stores and/or online), etc.

Explain in one paragraph why you would be a great addition to the Webster’s Pages design team.

Include a link to any online galleries (you participate on (please include your user name and make sure that online galleries do not have a login requirement) and your blog (if you have one).

Attach a scan or photograph of 3 paper craft projects that you feel best represent your style. Please make sure you include 1 scrapbook page, 1 card or altered item/home decor project, and the 3rd project can be a scrapbook page, card or altered item/home decor project. Images must be no larger than 600 x 600 px. We do ask that if possible you use Webster’s Pages products on these 3 projects in order for us to get a sense of how you would work with our style of products.

Please include your name, address, phone number and email address. Confirmation emails will NOT be sent. Notifications will be made by email or telephone in January.

Applications must be received by December 31st.

We are a very happy team at Webster's Pages & we value our Design Team tremendously! We are growing in leaps & bounds and we would love to share in our excitement with you. If you have any questions on applying, please send an email to wpdt@websterspages.com with subject QUESTION.

We look forward to hearing from you!"

**I think it would be so neat to actually be part of a design team and have people ooh-ing and ahh-ing over your works! But of course, for me, I'm just starting out on a hobby I have fallen head over heels in love with. =)

New blog!! *Only for scrapping la!*

Ok....

I just spent close to 4 hours setting up my new blog. Because I'm vain and I like pretty things. So I bought a blog-in-a-box kit from http://sweetshoppedesigns.com/ again for the new blog. I followed the designer's instructions and tried to set it up unsucessfully three times. Thank God for my sis-in-law who, at one try, got it right. -_-
So it's not the kit's fault. Its just me and html codes. Just don't go. Haha. The next time, I'm just gonna ask my sil to do it. Haha.

Had a hard time choosing the name too, in the end, I decided on Paperville. Don't ask me why k...no reason other then just wanting to put the word paper or scraps into my blog name. =)

Doesn't Mark look so awkward with her? Funny guy. Anyways! He and his galfriend bought this really cute pink keyboard for her... Comes with a mic and all, so noisy la! Haha. But she loves it and that's all that matters. She's really very blessed. She got this educational 'talking' pen from my mom and sis-in-law, the keyboard, a huge drawing board and book from dear Immanuel and a tricycle from my parents. We bought her a doll with bath acessories for her too! But anyway, she's got way too many stuff! And I really gotta either sell or give some away! I'm trying real hard not to give away things that has sentimental value, but seriously too much stuff. And because there is so much, its a huge mess and she hardly sees some of it. (Since its either packed up/messy/she older now so less interested) So please please please don't be offended if I give away something that any of you gave her. Thats where scrappng is great because I can take pics and scrap about it! Ahhh! Scrapping. Been in a scrapping fenzy lately. Anyway, here's the meet and greet pics!
